Looking for how to post on Instagram without your mobile device? This Google trick lets you post on Instagram from your PC. Although, you can browse through Instagram on your desktop and laptops doesn’t offer a way to upload photos on your Instagram because the social media platform is a mobile-focused service.
However, there is a workaround that enables you to post to your Instagram with chrome. This works in windows, mac, or a chrome book. As long as you have access to Google chrome.
- Visit Instagram and open Developer tools
Open Instagram.com in Google chrome and make sure you are logged into your account. Right-click and choose to inspect to access the developer tools panel or you use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + I on Windows or Cmd + Option + I on a Mac.
- Switch to mobile view
At the top left corner of the new Developer tools window, you will see an icon that looks like a phone, click on this to switch to mobile view you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + M on a PC or Cmd + shift + M on a mac.
- Upload your photo to Instagram
With the mobile view enable, you should see the various icons for Instagram’s tabs, and if you can’t see this row of icons, refresh the page F5 and it should appear. Click the icon in the middle of the toolbar to upload any photo from your browser.
The social media platform offers an official Windows 10 app on the Microsoft Store, it’s basically a port of the mobile app, that lets you upload images to your account. However, the option to upload an image on the Instagram app is no longer accessible.
