Thanksgiving 2019 – Thanksgiving is a religious celebration mainly celebrated by Christians. Christians give thanks to their creator for the gift of life and also for a successful and wonderful harvest.

 Whenever it’s Thanksgiving time, Christians prepare a lot for the celebration, first, they think of what’s best to give as a sacrifice or a gift of Thanksgiving.  Items like food items and some certain animals can be used as a gift of Thanksgiving.

The most interesting part of Thanksgiving celebration is the FOOD part. During Thanksgiving families come together to prepare delicious meals made of turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes (the turkey must be present).

Thanksgiving is a religious holiday which was first celebrated in the U.S. in late 16th century, the native Americans celebrates a festival for their wonderful harvest yearly. 

Thanksgiving in the U.S. is usually celebrated every fourth Thursday in the month of November and also Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 2nd Monday of October in Canada.

Thanksgiving – National Public or Religious Holiday?

Thanksgiving is not a federal government holiday, it is a yearly tradition in many countries and communities.  Many countries celebrate Thanksgiving on the same or different months and dates depending on their working schedule.

Prayers of thanks and special Thanksgiving ceremonies are common among almost all religions after harvests and at other times.

When will Thanksgiving be Celebrated 2019?

Thanksgiving is also celebrated in Liberia, Netherlands, Caribbean islands, grenade, Saint Lucia, and other countries aside U.S. and Canada.

The day following Thanksgiving in the U.S. is Black Friday. Whenever it’s Black Friday, retailers boast of huge sales with low discounts and shoppers comes with a deal to buy what they like.

Thanksgiving became very important during the English Reformation in the reign of Henry VIII.
