Outlook Export Contacts – Are you moving to a different email platform or just making routine backups of all your contacts Outlook Export Contacts makes it easy for you.
Depending on the version of Outlook that you are using, there are several different ways to export your contacts out of Outlook and into your Constant Contact account.
Here let’s take you thru each of them.
Outlook Export Contacts On 2013 & Outlook 2016
- Open Outlook and tap on file
- Tap Open & Export > Import/Export
- Choose “Export to a file”.
- Tap on “Next”
- Choose “Comma Separated Values”
- Tap “Next”
- Choose “Contacts” options under Personal Folders
- Tap “Next”
- Tap “Browse” and select both a name and location for the exported file.
- Tap “Next”.
- Tap “Finish”
Note: If you are working on a Mac, to import your contacts into Constant Contact, you have to first export them out of Outlook 2016 into a card file.
Outlook Export Contacts On Outlook 2010
Copying contacts from Outlook 2010 and pasting them into a spreadsheet is a faster process that offers you more control over the information you are exporting than manually exporting the contacts from Outlook.
- Open Outlook
- Tap Contacts on the left-hand menu.
- In the “Current View” window, tap the List option
- Choose the contacts you wish to copy, using CTRL + click to choose multiple contacts or CTRL + shift to choose a range.
- Copy the chosen contacts (CTRL +C).
- Paste the contacts into an Excel spreadsheet (CTRL +V)
- Save the file as XLS or CSV format.
On Outlook 365
- Open Outlook 365 and tap the Application icon.
- Tap People
- Tap Manage >Export contacts
- Choose “All contacts” or choose a folder of specific contacts
- Tap Export.
Note: Depending on your browser, you’ll be asked to either Open or Save the file.
On Outlook.com (Formerly Hotmail, Live, and MSN)
To move contacts from your Outlook.com account previously known as (Hotmail, Live, and MSN) into Constant Contact, you have to export them first into a file. Thereafter, you can import the file into your Constant Contact account.
- Open Outlook and tap the “Application” icon
- Tap on “People”
- Tap Manage >Export Contacts
- Choose “All contacts” or choose a folder of specific contacts and click Export.
Note: Depending on your browser, you’ll be asked to either Open or Save the file.
Outlook Export Contacts On Outlook Express (Formerly Microsoft Internet Mail)
In case you have contacts stored in Outlook Express, you are to first export them into a CSV file so you can import them into Constant Contact. Contacts must be stored in the Top Level Address Book Folder. Outlook Express does not export contacts in sub-groups due to a known Outlook Express issue.
- Open Outlook Express
- From the main menu, choose File >Export >Other Address Book
- Choose Text File (Comma Separated Values) then tap Export.
- Tap “Browse” to locate the directory where you want to place the exported file.
Provide the file name if your choice and add CSV at the end
For Save as type, choose Comma Separated Values (*CSV).
- Tap Save and Next
- In the “Select the fields you wish to export” section, choose the fields you want to import into Constant Contact. You also have the option to rename these column headings later
- Tap Finish.
You can now export your contacts or back them up and get access to them at anytime.
