Microsoft Edge Gets Creative about Handling Annoying Website Notifications – Microsoft will use crowdsourced information to determine how it deals with website plague information, typically, they ask for your permission to receive automatic updates from a particular sites, but they get in the way of web browsing which can be annoying. To prevent this Microsoft newly added a feature to its edge browser that automatically turns of those annoying notifications.
Microsoft says it’s taking a new technique, crowdsourcing data about how users deal with those pop-ups. The company will ensure to track the options people choose to allow, block, ignore or dismiss notifications, and assemble into an annoyance score. If the number is elevated, the edge will automatically quiet notifications from that site
Edge team wrote in a blog, “will use upgraded data regularly so sites can deliver a complete to their users when they get better acceptance rates from their users”. You can also turn on the quiet notification request option in edge settings. Microsoft also upgraded a few notification tweaks, whereby edge can send push notifications when it’s close, starting with version 85. The browser can also dismiss full-screen windows 10 notifications automatically with you doing anything.
