GAP is an American bases clothing and accessories retailing company founded by Donald Fisher and Doris F. Fisher in 1969. The headquarters of this outstanding venture is located in San Francisco, California. The Fisher family still maintains its involvement with the company by keeping lots of its stock shares in their name.
For the most part, Donald Fisher was Chairman of the Board until 2004 and continued as a board member till his death in 2009. The wife and son also termly served as board directors, the son took over from Donald Fisher in 2004 as the chairman of the board. Donald Fisher’s son Robert continued to be an active member of the board. And is always available to serve interim positions when any of the head positions are empty until they get replaced by someone else.
Since Gap Inc. started out as a company, the goal of Doris and Don Fisher has been simple and straight forward.
