A 24- hour timer for disappearing messages On Whatsapp May Soon Be Out
Getting to have your messages disappear within 24- hours are about to be possible and not just that but also some more enticing features about to be let loose.
WhatsApp is a social media app that allows people from far and near to converse through chatting, video calls, voice calls, etc. alongside other features it’s got, intends to upgrade a bit.
Normally, WhatsApp allows its users to send messages that disappear after seven days but due to the new upcoming development, users might soon be able to get their sent messages to disappear after 24-hours and have access to an improved version of the archive chat feature.

The current version of WhatsApp doesn’t allow you to select when your messages should disappear. It only shows an option asking if you would like to “enable” or “disable” the feature. Once you select “enable” your messages disappear after seven days. For now the time frame isn’t editable.

An update gotten from a good source (WABetaInfo) states that “WhatsApp is testing the ability to set messages to disappear after 24-hours”. With that, we really don’t have to wait for seven (7) whole days no more before our sent messages disappear.
However, it’s not being clarified yet but this feature should come as a selectable option that should allow users to choose which time frame they would prefer ( either the 7days or 24 hours).
How to Enable Disappearing Messages in WhatsApp
Enabling the disappearing messages Feature isn’t as tough as it may sound. You’ll just have to choose the content on your device to which you would like to send the disappearing messages.

- Click on your WhatsApp.
- Choose your contact.
- Click their name at the top of your screen.
- Select the disappearing messages and select the options.
- It’s been enabled.
WhatsApp’s New Archive Feature
Whatsapp is also working on an upgrade Archive feature. The upgraded version allows your achieved chat to be unachieved once you get a new message from the sender.
This might be an optional feature where you’ll select the ‘on’ or ‘off’ button depending on how you want it to be.
