In this blog post, we will teach you how to set up and use Samsung Pay on an Android phone or tablet.
Part 1: Setting Up Samsung Pay
These steps will guide you properly on how to set up and use Samsung Pay
- Open up Samsung Pay. It’s the blue icon that says “Pay.” You will find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
- Tap on Start on the welcome screen.
- If you’ve already set up a Samsung account, it will appear on this screen. If not, you’ll be prompted to sign in now.
- Next, you need to create a Samsung Pay PIN. This PIN is needed for payment authentication and app protection.
- If supported by your phone, you can choose to use your fingerprint for Samsung Pay. You will still have to create a PIN as a backup.
- Confirm the PIN by typing it again.
- Tap on Membership cards or Debit/Credit cards. Make a selection on the option that describes the type of payment method you’re adding. For this method, we’ll assume you’re adding a credit or debit card.
- Align your debit or credit card into your camera frame. Place the card face-up on a table and make sure it is aligned properly. The app will capture your card number and details automatically.
- If the app does not capture your card information properly, tap on Enter card manually and enter it yourself.
- Enter additional payment details and tap NEXT. This includes the card’s security code and expiration date, and your postal code.
- Make sure you read the Terms of Service and tap on AGREE TO ALL if you agree to their terms.
- Verify the card. You can choose to do this by Email, SMS , or CALL BACK. Here’s how:
- Enter your phone number or email address as required by the method you selected.
- Write down the code you will receive from Samsung Pay.
- Type in the code into Samsung Pay. If the code is detected, move to the next step.
- Tap on Submit.
- Tap Done.
Part 2: Making a Payment with Samsung Pay App
The following step below will guide you on how to successfully make payment with the Samsung pay app:
- Open Samsung Pay.
- Swipe up on the screen. This opens the Favorites menu.
- Tap PIN. If you set up your iris scanning or fingerprint for Samsung Pay, scan your finger or eye now as per the on-screen instructions.
- Enter your PIN. You can skip this step if you have scanned your fingerprint or iris.
- Next tap the back of your phone to the NFC/Card reader. Your purchase will be deducted from your default payment method.
- Tap on RETRY if it doesn’t work the first time.
Part 3: Adding a Card – How To Add Card To Samsun Pay
Follow the steps below to Add card to your Pay app
- Open up Samsung Pay
- Tap on Credit/Debit. It’s in the top row of icons.
- Tap on “ADD”. It is located at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Align your card in the camera frame. This will capture the number on the card.
- If the number is not captured, then tap on Enter card manually and then enter your card numbers yourself.
- Enter additional payment details and tap NEXT. This includes the card’s security code and expiration date, and your postal code.
Verify the card. Here’s how:
- Enter your email address or phone number as required by the method you selected.
- Write down the code you receive from Samsung Pay.
- Enter the code into Samsung Pay. If the code is detected, then move to the next step.
- Tap on Submit.
- Tap on Done. The card you entered will be used as your favorite payment method. If you don’t want it, remove the check mark from “Add to favorite” before you tap Done.
Part 4: Removing a Card – How To Remove Card from Samsung Pay
If you don’t need a particular card on your pay app any more, the step below will guide you on how to delete the card
- Open Samsung Pay.
- Tap Credit/Debit. It’s in the top row of icons.
- Tap the card you want to remove.
- Tap ⁝. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Tap Delete card. A confirmation message will appear.
- Tap on DELETE. A verification screen shows up.
- You can enter your PIN or scan your iris. Once your identity is being verified, the card will be taken out of Samsung Pay.
